When will the rest of the NFL just yell MERCY!!!!

Patriots have signed 31 year old, 5’7” Toledo WR: Andrew Hawkins, who played his first 3 seasons with the Bengals and the last 3 seasons with the Browns. Hawkins is that breakaway threat the Patriots have been missing.

Music to Our Ears

With the signing of Cooks and now Hawkins there are no more pieces missing in this puzzle. The threat from the air this year is going to be deadly, record breaking deadly. With the recent loss of Lagarette Blount to the Eagles, it was apparent that fans started to voice some concerns on who would make up for that yardage offensively and on the ground (especially on the goal line). The Pats have Lewis, White and Burkhead in their top 3 RB depth chart right now, those 3 amigos will have to carry the extra weight on their shoulders. However, now with the addition of Hawkins there should be no worry whatsoever offensively.

Hawkins is a guy that can play in the slot, who can break a zone wide open and when he sees green he’s gone. This guy has never had an elite QB before and has never surpassed 5 TD’s in a season, that will 100% change this season. Will Hawkins be able to adjust to this extensive playbook and offensive ideology from the Brains of Belichick? Ummm Hawkins graduated from Columbia University in 2017 with a master’s degree in sports management from the School of Professional Studies with a 4.0 GPA I think he’ll be okay. Will he get himself in trouble and be a problem in the streets? Hawkins has spoken about his faith saying, “I literally thank God every day for what I’m doing right now. I wouldn’t change the way I got here at all. It taught me so much. It made me a better person and a better man. I’m just so thankful for where I am, and I wake up every day and thank God for it.” Yea I wouldn’t worry too much about that. He is a saint, it is a surprise New Orleans didn’t pick him up. On top of it all, Brady has yet another Receiver under 6′ tall, gotta love it.

Get Pumped! August 10th can’t come soon enough.

Patriots 2017 Non-Divisional Match-ups

The best part about being a Patriots fan is that you essentially celebrate them all year long with separate events throughout the year that work as holidays. Let me elaborate you have all 16 games each week you have something to celebrate, all 3 or 4 playoff games mucho celebracion, super bowl the grand finale, free agency, schedule day, draft day and before you know it we have the summer training camps and preseason.

Image result for happy gif

Yesterday was one of those celebrations, NFL schedule release day or what we in New England like to call seeing our road to the Lombardi. I like to always think we have it easy but year after year the NFL tries to pound us with a tough, grueling schedule. This year is no different. No matter what the reports say about top 5 easiest or hardest schedules throughout the league they’ve kept the Patriots legendary name out of their mouths because of their elite status and ability to beat any team any place any time. Our roster this year is looking incredible and we haven’t even hit draft day yet. This year we take on the AFC West and NFC south two decent divisions where most teams have top of the league defenses. Let’s take a look at the 2017 Patriots schedule non-divisional games to see how we match up.

Week 1 Chiefs (Home)

Image result for pats vs chiefs gif

This is going to be a tough start to the season. This chief’s team has really turned things around since 2013 and has made the playoffs 3 out the last 4 years; however they’ve failed in the playoffs each and every time. Kansas City has a lot to prove this year and they are going to come out swinging after losing to the Steelers in the divisional playoff round after placing 1st in their AFC West division. Since 2000 the Patriots are 6-2 against this team but don’t let that fool you this is a tough team to play against, they went 12-4 last season and were 6-2 for home and away games.

Week 2 Saints (Away)

Image result for sean payton and belichick

Saints have always been a great sparring partner for the Patriots, we have hosted New Orleans the past couple years in summer camps and pre-season games. Sean Payton and Coach Bill are genuine friends. This game will be played in New Orleans and since 2000 the Pats are 3-1 against this team. Our offense is top tiered this year and unless the 7-9 2016 Saints beefs up their bottom of the barrel defense I think we’ll be okay. I won’t let that overshadow their #1 ranked offense however this team can move the football with 6816 total yards last season. I think we have the edge in this one due to our defensive pickups.

Oh and here’s a great TB12 stat while we’re at it:

Brady has played 92% of his games outdoors (185 of 202)….

Manning has played 49% of his games outdoors (122 of 248)….

Brady in a dome: 67.4%, 8.64 YPA, 6.9 TD%, 2.62% INT, 106.42 rating

Week 3 Texans (Home)

Image result for pats vs texans gif

Ahh the Texans, the little brother of the Patriots that may just never grow big enough to beat them up one day. The Texans staff is constructed of old Patriots players and coaches. Some like Bill O’Brien, Mike Vrabel and Vince Wilfork will go down in Patriots history but will for sure never be remembered for that Texans logo. The Patriots are 8-1 against this team and smoked them twice last year once in the regular season and once in the playoffs. Not worried, just hope our OL can stop Clowney from hurting our precious Tom.

Week 4 Panthers (Home)

Image result for pats vs panthers gif

No clue what happened to this Panthers team. They went from a 15-1 nearly undefeated team, and even making it to a super bowl in 2015 to going 6-10 this past season and missing the playoffs. Losing a super bowl sent them on a downward spiral and they will be looking to make some serous changes this season for this fan base and franchise. Patriots are 3-2 against this team since 2000. They are still one of the top rush stoppers in the NFL led by Luke Keuchly an d giving up only 1464 brush yards 6th in the NFL.  Let’s see if Cam Newton can turn things around but this game should be a a win at home in New England.

Week 5 Buccaneers (Away)

Image result for jameis winston bucs gif

This game will probably be one of our toughest. The Buccaneers are a team that is looking to make a statement in the NFC South with standout fantasy players. Jamies Winston, Doug Martin, Jacquizz Rodgers and Mike Evans were offensive beasts; they make up for most of the 5542 total yards they earned last year. This team was 9-7 last year and missed the playoffs so they are on the hunt this season.

Week 7 Falcons (Home)

Image result for patriots falcons super bowl gif

This game will be an ultimate rematch of super bowl 51. What the perfect game to be played on Sunday Night Football at home in Foxboro. Patriots are 5-0 against Atlanta since 2000 but honestly this game will never overshadow the embarrassment they suffered in February. This will be an amazing game but win or lose we still made them cry with the greatest comeback in sports history.

Week 8 Chargers (Away in LA)

Image result for la chargers gif

LA Chargers, just what LA needs 2 football teams for the Kardashians to choose from SMH. Chargers always give us some decent competition and we are 7-3 against them since 2000. However this team is coming off a 5-11 season and were 16th overall in offensive and defensive stats. I’m predicting a nice victory in sunny California.

Week 10 Broncos (Away)

Image result for pats vs broncos gif

This game acts like a double edged sword. I am extremely frustrated with this game because yet again we play in Denver against this Broncos team. The Patriots have played in Denver the last three times these teams have met. The Broncos play some of their best football against the Patriots and even better in Denver. The Broncos were 5-3 at home last season and we just played them in Denver late last season where we ran away with a 16-3 victory. This team had the 4th ranked defense last year and is coming off a shaky offense that was 27th in the league. But this is most definitely a rivalry that boasts great competition so matter who their QB is, look for a great game. The only real positive I have for this is that it’s after our bye week so thanks NFL for at least that.

Week 11 Oakland (Away in Mexico)

Image result for pats vs raiders gif

This is a great matchup. This Oakland team was special last year and if Derrick Carr didn’t go down with an injury it would’ve made for a fun playoff run against New England. We are 5-1 against Oakland since 2000 and this is essentially a home game for Oakland since their entire fan base is Spanish. Their 6th place offense can move the ball so should be a great game, and quite possibly could be the prequel to the AFC championship.

Week 15 Steelers (Away)

Image result for pats vs steelers gif

I genuinely like this tough game late in the season. Hopefully by then the Patriots would have clinched the home field advantage and we can sit our starters (Unlikely Coach Bill would do that but we can hope). The Steelers have a fantastic display of offensive explosiveness. Big Ben and Antonio Brown are dangerous for this leagues defensive secondary. The Patriots are 10-3 since 2000 against the Steelers so not too worried about this match up this late in the season.  In my opinion the NFL is losing some serious money not having this game on prime time national TV.

Road to Glory in 2017:

pats schedule

Quit playin games

What does this mean!?!!???!!!? Things have changed but nothing changed?!?!!? WHAT?

It’s literally gotten to the point where athletes enjoy trolling us. Exhibit A. Malcom Butler on a plane using the words change twice in one sentence and sporting black and gold(Steelers?!?!?!)

Every athlete that does this on social media is a troll. First Jimmy, now Butler. Lets not forget the time Isaiah Thomas sent out all those cryptic tweets during the trade deadline. People went NUTS. I think it’s hilarious. I love it. Make us freak out. Give me something to write about. Give me a heart attack.

But this is literally the most vague post I’ve ever seen. Maybe he’s just quoting Drake. Or maybe he’s leaving us.

Damn trolls.

Should the Patriots take another shot at Darrelle Revis?

One the best corners in the game became a shell of himself in 2016, blowing coverage on big plays, getting out played by every elite receiver he faced. Now Darrelle Revis is a free agent once again. Revis faced up to 4 felony charges stemming from an altercation last month in his hometown of Pittsburgh. Many of us believed that his career was most likely over but when Revis appeared in court yesterday, which he learned that all of his charges would be dropped. Now his focus is to find a new team and regain what he was doing best just a couple of seasons ago being that shutdown corner.

As you recall Darrelle Revis signed with the patriots in 2014 off season and would be a major factor in bringing a fourth Lombardi trophy back to New England that same season. Many people believed that it was just a one year marriage between Revis and the Pats as both sides could not come to agreement to a long term extension a year later. Revis then elected to sign with his former team the Jets in one of the richest contracts for a cornerback in NFL history. Revis got his ring and his contract but his performance dipped big time. I mean watch any game film from 2016, he looked disinterested and out of shape. Now he claims he’s “10 pounds lighter” than he was at this time last year, and that the “hunger is there” for the upcoming season.

I would be all in favor of welcoming back Revis. It would be your classic Belichick move, and I think Revis still has a lot left in the tank. You can’t just lose it all after one season, I think he was not motivated to be playing for such an awful New York Jets team. It’s looking like Malcolm Butler will be traded sooner or later and while they added Stephon Gilmore, they still need depth at the corner position. I think Revis will be motivated to play on a winning squad once again and he can fit right back into his role similar to 2014. Him and Gilmore can potentially become a great shutdown tandem. If Revis were to come back I’m guessing it will be short term like 1 or 2 years and cheap money. Revis has already cashed in money wise. He should now cash in with another championship in New England and have the chance to restore in legacy as one of the best corners in the game.

Hightower DOES stay in NE

Dont’a Hightower was one of the hot players on the free agency market this off season. Hightower was being scouted by several teams looking to strengthen their defense including Tennessee and New Orleans. The star linebacker even had facility visits with the Steelers and the Jets. If we were going to lose this guy I did not want to lose him to a divisional rival and certainly not against a team we’d play again in the AFC championship.

Well today it looks like the star linebacker who played in 13 games this season, had 65 combined tackles, 2.5 sacks, and one safety has come to terms with New England, BIG TERMS. The contract is for four years, $43.5 million, with $19 million guaranteed, Hightower’s representation told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.

Hightower may not be the best LB in the league; he may not even be in the top 20. According to Athlon sport and life magazine these are the top 20:

Luke Kuechly, Carolina

Derrick Johnson, Kansas City

NaVorro Bowman, San Francisco

Jerrell Freeman, Chicago

Brandon Marshall, Denver

Danny Trevathan, Chicago

Bobby Wagner, Seattle

Deone Bucannon, Arizona

David Harris, New York Jets

C.J. Mosley, Baltimore

Tamba Hali, Kansas City

Whitney Mercilus, Houston

Melvin Ingram, San Diego

Pernell McPhee, Chicago

Jabaal Sheard, New England

Chandler Jones, Arizona

Von Miller, Denver

Justin Houston, Kansas City

Jamie Collins, Cleveland

Clay Matthews, Green Bay

So why did we pay this guy for?!

What Makes Hightower a 4 Year $44 million dollar man if he’s not even in the top 20-

His ability to read the pass/run and making clutch plays when his team needs it most. 3rd down conversion stuffs, quick defensive audibles and especially big sacks to take the opposing team out of field goal range and force a strip sack in the super bowl.

We didn’t pay for a top 20 linebacker; we paid for our 2012 first round draft pick to remain the leader of this defense. Patriot’s linebacker Jonathan Freeney had this to say about Hightower, “In our room he’s more of a vocal leader, On the field, he’s the signal-caller. He most definitely leads with his play. Just by watching him you can tell he’s a guy that loves to play and makes it fun out there.”

Best part is Hightower knows he’s not a stats guy; he’s a guy that loves to win and smoosh running backs at the line of scrimmage. When he was asked about run stopping and tackles this was his response…

“That’s what I do. That’s what I take pride in. It means a lot to me but as far as the stats and stuff, I’m not big on that. As long as we win, we do what we’ve got to do; we get the win, that’s all that matters to me.”

In Bill we Trust!!!

Pats Continue to Stack Up; Add HB Rex Burkhead

Bellichick added Rex Burkhead to the backfield today to compliment James White, Dion Lewis, D.J. Foster, Tyler Gaffney, and James Develin, while we still wait for decisions on Legarette Blount and Brandon Bolden contracts.

Burkhead played in Cincinatti from 2014 through 2016. He’s 26 years old, 5’10,” 215 pounds. He hasn’t played much for the Bengals in his first three years, but he took 74 hand-offs last year and ran for 344 yards, and caught 17 balls for 145 yards last year, with two touchdowns.

Burkhead was Cincinnati’s special teams ace last year, and that, combined with his offensive versatility, is what grabbed Bill’s attention.

Bill “whitey Bulger” Belichick locks down Cooks

Bada Bing Bada Boom realist guys in the room HOW YOU DOIN!!!!

Annnddddddd just like that on day 2 of free agency The Patriots are en route to #6. I compare Belichick to whitey because the guy just gets what he wants no ifs ands or shots to the knee caps. Tom Brady now has Brandin cooks added to his arsenal of aerial threats and the NFL can’t do a thing about it. The patriots ended up getting Cooks for a bit more than that first round pick which was originally planned. The saints received our first round 32nd pick as well as our 3rd round 103rd pick. Overall not too shabby of a deal, I may also want to add that Whitey also gutted the Saints for their 4th round 118th pick. Savages. The patriots are going to pick up yet another average joe with this pick and make him a superstar.

Whose this no name superstar they’re gonna pick up!?!?

Carroll Philips OLB Illinois , book it Bulger and insure my legs $10k just in case.

Kony Island comes to Gillete

Patriots just received Carolina Panthers defensive end Kony Ealy along with a third-round pick, and will get New England’s second-round pick in return. Once Carolina pulled the trigger on having Julius Peppers, Charles Johnson and Mario Addison 2016’s leading sacker back the league was on the watch for Ealy.

Uncovering Kony:

He was drafted by the Panthers in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He played college football at Missouri. In 2016, Ealy played all 16 games; however, he only started six. He recorded 32 tackles, 5 sacks, and one interception.

He is known for his unreal Super Bowl 50 performance in 2015. During Super Bowl 50 against the Denver Broncos, Ealy tied the Super Bowl record and set the Panthers’ postseason record with 3 sacks, accomplishing this in only 23 total snaps. He also recorded an interception and forced fumble in the game. The Panthers would lose the Super Bowl 24-10. Ealy became the first player in Super Bowl history to have an interception and multiple sacks. He was also the first since 1993 to record multiple sacks, an interception and a forced fumble in a postseason game. He tied both Reggie White and Darnell Dockett for the most sacks in Super Bowl (3.)

Patriots Sign Stephon Gilmore

The Pats just dropped a bomb, snagging one of the top cornerbacks away from the free agent pool. Stephon Gilmore reportedly is going to sign for 14 million per, and the Pats now have an elite secondary, with Gilmore and Butler opposite each other playing corner. Huge upgrade from Logan Ryan.

The Patriots don’t even pay their own players, which tells me Belichick has to be in love with this guy. Gilmore was taken 10th overall in 2012, and he’s been a pro bowl type player throughout his career. The talk about him in Buffalo was that he hit a snag and regressed last year, but how motivated can you be when you’re playing for the Bills?

Gilmore is 26, and he had five picks last year. We know what this means for Logan Ryan, but what does this mean for Malcolm Butler? If they’re interested in keeping both of them, they’ll spend at least 28 million dollars in cap room for 2 players. Certainly it could be worth it to some teams to pay impact position players like that, but it’s tough to imagine Belichick doing that.

Pats Trade for Colts TE Dwayne Allen

The Pats added Dwayne Allen to the roster today, trading away a 4th and a 6th round pick to the Colts. The 27 year old tight end will join Rob Gronkowski and Matt Lengel in New England to bolster that offense around Brady.

Allen played at Clemson and won the Mackey award for the top tight end in college football. He caught passes from Tajh Boyd and was on an offense that had Andre Ellington, Deandre Hopkins, and Sammy Watkins. He killed it that year. 49 catches, 592 yards, fucking 8 touchdowns in 14 games. Consensus All-American.

Indy drafted him after they drafted Coby Fleener, and Allen immediately became a better player. Throughout his first five seasons, he’s been valued at a higher level as a blocker than a pass-catcher, but if you don’t think Tom Brady is gonna turn him into a 60-catch, 600-yard receiving tight end, then you’re an idiot.

McDaniels will line this guy up next to Gronk, opposite Gronk, in the backfield, in the slot, out wide, you name it. When Gronk goes down for the season, Allen’s gonna see a lot of balls come his way. At 6’3” and 265 pounds, he can run. He’s decent. He had 6 touchdowns last year on 406 yards.

Allen’s contract runs three more years and he holds a cap hit around 5.8 mil. This is just another target for God to throw to, and we give up nothing for him. Those picks are for drug addict Jim Irsay and the Colts to screw up now.

His blocking is what’s impressive, and we’ll see what they do with the running back position, but no doubt, this trade will help.
