Last night the Bruins played good, real good. This game was pure dominance against a really good Central Division-Western conference Nashville Predators who in turn are fighting to keep their own playoff hopes alive. The Bruins took over this game early scoring 2 goals in the first. Tuuka rask had 24 saves and I’d say about 20 of them could’ve gone in, all opportunistic scoring chances for Nashville however Tuukka came up big. Where has this been all season? Who knows but now there may be a fire lit under their ass and Cassidy is letting them know this is it.
Final score was 4-1 with scoring from Bergeron who netted his 18th of the season, and Krejci who got his 22nd. Acciari scored his first career goal in 43 NHL games, Backes netted his 17th of the season on an empty netter. Craig Smith scored the lone Preds goal who had a 4 game win streak snapped at the garden.
Prior to turning professional, Acciari attended Providence College where he played three seasons of D1 hockey with the Friars, registering 32 goals, 33 assists, 65 points, and 72 penalty minutes in 113 games. In his last year Acciari helped his team capture their first 2015 NCAA title, and his outstanding play was recognized when he was named Hockey East’s Best Defensive Forward. The Bruins signed Acciari to a two-year entry-level contract. In the midst of the 2015–16 seasons, on March 1, 2016, Acciari was called up to the Boston Bruins for the first time as a professional. He also made his NHL debut. He’s played between the Providence Bruins and NHL Bruins for the past 2 years and may find a permanent spot on Causeway if he plays like every game might be his last.
Tempers were also flaring all game. Backes checked Subban behind his own net and pressed his face against the glass like a Panera panini. The Bruins Acciari was out there playing for a job today, finishing every possible check and scoring his first goal. He had a check on the boards against the Preds McLeod. Kevan Miller came to his savior and fought McLeod with minutes remaining. Really good battle and then Nash and Moore decided to get it on the fun, great win and even better end of a game. Bruins remain 1 point behind the Leafs for 3rd in the Atlantic, every game matters from here on out.
